Perks of a Private!

I started working with Mora in December of 2018. I’ve always been fairly athletic and ski aggressively. After having our first baby I wanted to get into Pilates to build back up my core. Over the past four months, the one-on-one reformer sessions have helped me regain my core strength so that I’m pretty much doing everything better. The most noticeable difference I feel in is my skiing. This past weekend in Vermont I did four runs through the trees and felt so strong that I was able to ski really aggressively and it was awesome! Very pumped to continue with my Pilates journey!

Towards the end of August, I promised myself I would begin exercising and taking better care of my myself. It was then that I came across studio47 Facebook page and decided to attend some classes. I immediately began noticing my body transform. My energy, strength and flexibility increased drastically. studio47 strikes the perfect balance!

Hi! This week I bought an online membership to compliment my twice-weekly in-studio classes and today I did my first video, the Core Blast. It was fantastic! It was challenging and I think it will be a key class for me as I work to keep my back healthy and pain free. Yay! smile

I’ve done other Pilates videos in the past, but most suffer from one of two problems. Either they are too slow and not challenging because the instructor is bogged down in explaining the exercises and chatting or they are too difficult in a way that feels dangerous because the instructor is not providing enough explanation to help me do the exercises correctly.

I really enjoyed the class.

I really enjoyed the class. It had many of the elements of barre and TRX that I enjoy. I’d like to see it added as a Wednesday or Thursday 4:30 or 5:00pm class.

I loved the class!

I loved the class! I liked how it combined reformer with mat. I liked the pace, and the clear instruction of all the positions made it easy to follow.

I especially liked how it worked my sides; it helped me feel the separation of my ribcage from my waist. I don’t recall the specific exercises that did this, but I definitely felt longer through the waist when I was done. My shoulders also got a great workout. I felt the little muscles working in the shoulder blades and the back armpit area. I was nervous about the squat legwork but having the bungie support helped me balance and help me get the correct squat position, so I avoided hurting my knees. I also liked the standing balance work, it help me identify how uneven I am from left to right and helped me determine which side dominates.

I would definitely take this class on a regular basis if I could fit it into my schedule. I work 7:30 am – 330 pm, so for me it would have to be an evening class or a Sunday class. And I cannot do Wednesdays.

Class was fun while motivating and challenging.

I took a Core class with Danielle on Friday. I just want to express my appreciation. Danielle is an excellent instructor. I have worked out my whole life and attended countless classes. I definitely am aware of when an instructor is knowledgeable in their theory. She explained the anatomy of our postures and kept it light and fun while motivating and challenging. She also has dynamic energy. Danielle is an asset to your studio!

Powerful Serves and Groundstrokes

​As a lifelong and former college tennis player, I have always gravitated to workouts that complement my game. I injured my knee several years ago, and Pilates and Barre have helped me to strengthen the muscles around my injury, giving it additional support. I have also noticed that my increased core strength has translated into more powerful serves and groundstrokes.
